Can I get a job through Engineering Futures?
In order to work on the railway you need to have the Sentinel Card which you will receive on completion of the Engineering Futures training. With 30,000+ new jobs being created in the next few years in the rail industry, the demand for skilled labour outweighs the current workforce in the industry.

Is there a guaranteed job at the end of the programme?
Engineering Futures is only providing Level 3 Diploma Training in Rail Engineering and Maintenance at this time. UK rail is expanding, creating a significant number of vacancies. I'm not sure if you've seen the news recently but with the HS2 project is creating 20,000-30,000 new jobs in railway and in the next few years a separate 40,000+ jobs are being created. If you have this qualification it will put you in good stead to get a job regardless of the experience you have. We work with our partners to provide our candidates the training and tools to make use of this opportunity. Although we cannot guarantee jobs we will help you gain employment on your successful completion of the Engineering Futures programme.
Does this course include everything you need to work on the railway/in the railway industry?
Yes you will have everything you need to work on the tracks including PTS Sentinel Card. ICI (Industry Common Induction), TIC (Track Induction) and full PPE gear. We will also help you gain employment on your successful completion of the Engineering Futures programme.
Can I do the course part time/full time?
At this time we are only offering full time courses which will be 1-2 days a week for 15 weeks. We have designed this course to work around you. We will be offering flexible part time options in the new year.
Once I’ve completed the course what happens?
If you successfully enrol and complete the Engineering Futures course, you will receive a Sentinel Card as part of the course which will enable you to work on the railway infrastructure in any of the thousands of different jobs there are. We have funding available. With regards to finding work we can point you in the right direction and I'm sure you can network with other candidates in order to find the right job for you.
